Why Alexandra Jarvis left The Oppenheim Group

Publish date: 2024-06-09

Season three of Selling the OC has *finally* landed on Netflix! As the spin-off series of the iconic Selling Sunset, the reality show follows the agents from The Oppenheim Group's Orange County office.

However, just days before the premiere of the latest series, one of the cast members announced her decision to leave the renowned real estate agency. Alexandra Jarvis, who has been a prominent fixture since the show first launched back in 2022, has followed in the footsteps of some of her former co-stars and decided to call it a day.

Her former boss and fellow cast member, Jason Oppenheim, confirmed the news late last month, revealing that she's "decided to do what's best" for her. "I have a lot of respect for that. We're still on good terms," he told People.

So, why did Alexandra decide to call it quits at The Oppenheim Group? Here's all you need to know...

Why has Alexandra Jarvis quit The Oppenheim Group?

In April 2024, the Mail Online reported that Alexandra - who has always been open about her working relationship struggles on camera - had become the third agent to walk from the agency ahead of series three. She follows Tyler Stanaland and Sean Palmieri who have also said their goodbyes.

The publication also noted that speculation about her position at the O Group had been mounting before the news broke, as eagle-eyed fans noticed that her profile had been removed from the website's "Meet the Team" page.

What has Alexandra said about leaving The Oppenheim Group?

The 33-year-old spoke to People in April 2024 while promoting season three of Selling the OC. During the interview - and despite appearing in the newest eps - she confessed that she had actually left The O Group "several months ago."

She explained: "There were a lot of factors that went into my decision," before adding that the "toxic culture" was the catalyst for her resignation.

Alexandra then reasoned that she didn't think anyone was "surprised" by her departure. She simply mused: "I don't really know what to say about it other than I just know when it's time to leave a party."

What's next for Alexandra?

While chatting to People, Alexandra didn't mention any future career plans. However, she did note that she's looking forward to spending more time with her husband, Sergio Ducoulombier. The couple tied the knot in April 2023 in a lavish Lake Como ceremony after first getting engaged over Christmas in 2020.

Alexandra gushed: " I've been enjoying married life. [I'm] just enjoying a little bit less stress, less drama, and just normal everyday life."

In terms of what the former O Group employee could get up to, Alexandra has quietly been making waves in the modelling world alongside her real estate career. Boasting 168K Instagram followers, the reality star regularly posts snaps from photoshoots to her grid.

She's also an avid traveller, so we can imagine we'll see a lot more luxury getaways on the gram, too.

Selling the OC season three is now streaming on Netflix.
