Surbhi Jyoti in Workout Gear Shares a Gym Selfie
Surbhi Jyoti is hitting the gym in her workout clothes. In a new social media post the Indian actress flaunts her amazing figure while standing next to the treadmill. In another post she flashes her abs in a two-piece outfit. "Hello Insta….Long time haan…," she captioned the mirror selfie. How does the 35-year-old approach health and wellness? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.
Surbhi added that "drinking lots of water" is another one of her top health habits. According to the Mayo Clinic, hydration is important for a variety of reasons. Water helps get rid of waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature normal, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.
Surbhi maintains a healthy diet. "I would like to tell people to eat loads of fibrous food and consume lot of water in a day," she told Tellychakkar. She added that she eats a "mix of fruits and veggies," is a "pure egg-etarian," eats a lot of milk and eggs and "anything that is home made."
Surbhi is a coffee drinker. She prefers "cold coffee with ice cream," she told the publication. According to the Cleveland Clinic, there are several benefits of drinking coffee in moderation. "It acts on your brain to improve memory, mood, reaction times, and mental function," they say, citing a study finding that caffeine can improve endurance and performance during exercise. It is also antioxidant-rich, can ward off diabetes, prevent neurologic disease, lower cancer risk, and ward off depression, they point out.
When it comes time for a drink, Surbhi has her go-to. "I drink only red wine," she said. "Red wine, in moderation, has long been thought of as heart healthy," says the Mayo Clinic. "The alcohol and certain substances in red wine called antioxidants may help prevent coronary artery disease, the condition that leads to heart attacks."
"The only kind of workout that I enjoy is dance," says Surbhi. "Zumba is a dance form that I totally enjoy." Dancing is a great workout for many reasons. Not only does it build strength and promote flexibility, but helps you lose weight and even promotes cardiovascular function. A 2016 study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine determined that people who engaged in moderate-intensity dancing were 46 percent less likely to develop heart disease or die from it than non-dancers. In comparison, moderate-intensity walkers were just 25 percent less likely to suffer heart health issues.
Surbhi is a devoted yogi. "My mantra in terms of fitness is practicing yoga," she told Tellychakkar. "I practice yoga regularly." There is a laundry list of reasons to do yoga, explains Harvard Health. "Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years, gained less weight during middle adulthood," they said. "People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating."
