Oklahoma inmate escapes from Lexington prison; search underway WSOC TV
LEXINGTON, Okla. — Authorities in Oklahoma are searching for an inmate who escaped from a Lexington prison last weekend, multiple news outlets are reporting.
According to KOCO and KXII, the Oklahoma Department of Corrections said 31-year-old Matthew Perry vanished from the minimum-security Lexington Correctional Center sometime before noon Sunday, when officials conducted a head count and could not find him.
Perry, who has blue eyes and brown hair, weighs about 216 pounds and is about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, authorities said. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison after being convicted of forgery, as well as possessing and intending to distribute a controlled substance, KOCO and KXII reported.
