Madonna sexually harassed a 17-year-old girl during a Rebel Heart concert

Despite the cries of sexism and misogyny, I do think Madonna is legitimately a mess right now. If you tell me that the sad, drunk clown thing is all just part of her “act” during her Rebel Heart tour, then so be it. But the evidence is mounting that Madge is actually in the midst of some kind of breakdown. She’s consistently HOURS late to shows, she’s falling down a lot and her on-stage patter has gone from “not funny” to “bizarre and uncomfortable.” The Australian leg of her tour is going so poorly that she actually performed to a half-empty stadium this week too.

So, what’s new? At a show last night in Brisbane, Madonna sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl. That’s technically what happened, although the girl says that it was a misunderstanding and that the misunderstanding was the best thing that ever happened to her. Madonna pulled 17-year-old Josephine Georgiou on stage in Brisbane and Josephine was told that she would have a moment to walk down the runway with Madge, and that Madge would “spank” her. While Josephine was on stage, Madonna started playing with the leather corset Josephine was wearing, and then the wardrobe malfunction happened and suddenly the corset came loose and a teenage girl was exposed on stage with Madonna. Madonna’s reaction? “Oh sh-t. Oh sorry. Sexual harassment. You can do the same to me if you like…” The video is everywhere and I’m not going to post it, but it’s gone viral.

As I said, Josephine isn’t going to press charges or sue. She told an Aussie paper: “Seriously, why would I sue Madonna for the best moment of my life?” And for what it’s worth, it really did sound accidental, in that Madonna honestly did not mean to pull off Josephine’s corset.
