Jazz Jennings Shows Off Gender Confirmation Surgery Scars In New Bathing Suit Photos

It’s been a long journey for the TLC star of the hit show I Am Jazz, Jazz Jennings. Since undergoing gender confirmation surgery on June 26, 2018, Jazz has been on a challenging path. She experienced complications and returned back to the hospital for a second procedure. Now, Jazz is entering 2020 fully transitioned and proudly showing off her gender confirmation scars. In several swimsuit photos that Jazz shared on Instagram, you can see Jazz as she proudly displays her curves, along with two bold scars on the upper part of her thighs. She posted the pictures on New Year’s Eve as if she was letting the world know that she is going into 2020 with newfound bravery.

The 19-year-old shared her journey with her fans and the fifth season of I Am Jazz chronicled her transition following the surgery. Now graduated (Jazz was valedictorian) she is planning to attend Harvard University, after taking a gap year to focus on some more self-care.

Jazz’s fans find her to be inspirational as she always kept a positive attitude, even when things during her transition became nearly unbearable. Jazz always leaned on others for strength and support until she could find her own. Most agree that Jazz is uncharacteristically strong-willed and that attitude has helped her achieve her dreams.

Sharing the photos with her more than 970,000 Instagram followers, Jazz included the following caption.

“These are my scars on full display in #2019. I’m proud of my scars and love my body just the way it is. I call them my battle wounds because they signify the strength and perseverance it took to finally complete my transition❤️#decadechallenge”
