Happy Birthday Frank Iero: A Look Back At 2016
October 31, 2016 marks Frank Iero’s 35th birthday. Although he’s had a successful career with My Chemical Romance, he has achieved many accomplishments this year as a solo artist.
Frank has performed huge shows in 2016 such as the Shadow of The City Festival in New Jersey and Riot Fest in Chicago, Illinois, and Denver, Colorado.
Death Spells
On July 29, Frank and James Dewees released a debut album titled, Nothing Above, Nothing Below under the name, “Death Spells.” The idea for the album initiated in 2012, but due to other projects, it was pushed back.
Death Spells toured in cities such as Glasgow, London, Birmingham, Manchester, Moscow, and New York.
2-Year-Anniversary of ‘Stomachaches’
August 25th then marked the two-year-anniversary of his first solo album Stomachaches, which Frank released under the moniker “frnkiero and the cellebration.” The name was then changed to “Frank Iero and the Patience.”
Kerrang Magazine
On September 20th, Kerrang Magazine released Frank’s cover of their September issue!
10-Year-Anniversary of ‘The Black Parade’
On September 23, My Chemical Romance released a reissue of The Black Parade, celebrating 10 years since its original release. The album also goes by the title Living With Ghosts and includes all the original songs, as well as demos.
Parachutes
Also in September, Frank announced that he would be releasing his second album, titled Parachutes, along with new tour dates. To celebrate the announcement, he released a song called “I’m a Mess.”
Unfortunately, on October 13, Frank Iero and The Patience were involved in an accident while in Australia. Read more about that here. As a result, they had to cancel the remaining tour dates scheduled for 2016.
However, on October 28, Frank finally released Parachutes!
What’s next for Frank?
Next year, Frank Iero and the Patience will be touring with Taking Back Sunday across the UK/Europe!
