Gigi has a trick to get herself motivated at the gym. "I'm really competitive—I'm an athlete and played volleyball all through high school—so working out is fun for me. My trainer will tell me the women's records for different things at the gym, and I'll have to beat one by the end of the day or I won't leave," she told Into the Gloss.

Gigi fuels up with food. She detailed her morning routine to Harper's Bazaar. "I work almost every day, so I usually wake up around 7 A.M. On my days off I try to sleep in, which is my guilty pleasure. I will sleep past noon on some days but then wish that I had gotten up earlier. But I also love waking up early when the city is still quiet. I usually eat breakfast or have coffee before I do anything. I live near the Smile, and I love their scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast. I drink orange juice and coffee always. At home I love scrambled eggs and toast; it's just an easy go-to," she said.

Gigi has one workout she loves. "I rode horses and played volleyball back home, so when I came to New York it was hard for me to just go to the gym. I need to have a sport that wakes me up and that I can get better at, and boxing does that for me. I usually go to Gotham Gym in the West Village. My boxing trainer has become my coach. The coach-player thing has been really important my whole life," she told Harper's Bazaar.

Gigi is very consistent in her approach to exercise. "It's all about how hard you work and how much you put in—Gigi is a hard worker," her trainer Rob Piela, owner of New York's Gotham Gym and Gotham G-Box, told Vogue. "Staying fit is all about consistency," he says. "Don't miss workout days; don't get lazy in the winter."

Gigi allows herself to indulge. "I've always said, 'Eat clean to stay fit, have a burger to stay sane,'" she told E! And yes, in multiple interviews she has confessed that burgers are her favorite cheat meal. Just eat them in moderation: "Diets high in red meat are associated with many health problems, such as chronic inflammation, heart disease, diabetes, cancer, dementia, and premature death. While those risks may be enough to keep you from digging into a juicy burger or steak, they may not stop your craving for meaty textures on the plate," says Harvard Health.
